Development & Training
Creating
the Vision of Your Future! ©
In the 21st century, we face extraordinary change
on a regular basis, both personally and professionally.
Current research results indicate that the average person
will have 15 to 20 different jobs, half of which will be in
dramatically different careers, industries, or
organizations. In fact, the average employee may experience
being "downsized" or "laid off" at least
3 times over the course of their career.
For many of us, change often
is externally
imposed, rather than self-directed and our response to
change is reactionary, rather than proactive. Individuals who take the initiative to design a career
development plan and proactively manage their own career
will experience smoother transitions.
This
one-day (6-hour) program provides an opportunity for
self-reflection, personal planning, and group discussion.
It’s a day to explore your thoughts, feelings, and
ideas about your recent jobs, career, professional growth, and goals
for the future. It provides a framework for designing a
short and long-term career plan which will stimulate your
creativity, enhance your satisfaction, rekindle your
enthusiasm, and renew your career vitality.
In
this program, you will:
-
Discuss techniques to manage change effectively.
-
Create a personal profile of interests, skills, and
values.
-
Assess your work style and lifestyle preferences
based upon your
personal responses to the Meyers Briggs
style indicator.
-
Define
the vision of your ideal life and work.
-
Evaluate the "fit" of your
current job or business and explore strategies to
enhance satisfaction.
-
Discuss options to enhance
skills, maximize strengths, and foster professional
growth.
-
Create
a 2 to 5 year career plan to successfully transition
into your ideal scenario.
-
Develop a short-term action plan to start the process.
This program can be offered as a class with up to 30 participants.
